I was doing live weather tonight at the Oregon International Airshow and wouldn’t you know it, our live truck was parked right next to this red and white bird.
It’s a U.S. Coast Guard Dolphin HH-65C that cruises around northwest skies at around 180mph. Depending on the weather, of course.

I never thought I’d see Timber Joey at Portland’s NW Natural Street Of Dreams.
I mean, a guy with a chainsaw next to million dollar homes? Sounds dangerous!
But just after doing live weather for KOIN Local 6, I turned around and there he was, welcoming guests to a charity event at the Street of Dreams. Chainsaw in tow.

Yesterday was one of my favorite days of the year.
Rafting day.
It’s an annual guided Whitewater Rafting trip with some friends and some family.
We leave Portland early in the morning and drive over Mt. Hood to Maupin, Oregon. The town is Oregon’s whitewater rafting capital, for sure.
Our group has gone with three different rafting companies–but All Star Rafting is our favorite, hands down.

It’s an event on the Sussman calendar every summer: a trip to Government Camp, Oregon where we go down the Alpine Slides you see in this picture.
I’m not sure who loves it more: the kids…or the parents.
