Solar Flare From Sun Leads To Solar Storm On Earth, Northern Lights

Folks in Washington State’s Methow Valley saw the northern lights on Wednesday March 7, 2012.

Live Blogging From Where It’s 84 Degrees

People Are Still Asking: What Were Those Clouds Over Mt. Hood And Mt. Adams This Weekend?

They were Lenticular clouds.

These types of clouds are a mountain specialty, if you will.

Amanda took this incredible shot from near Milwaukie, Oregon as several of these Lenticular clouds piled on top of each other right over Mt. Hood during the long Thanksgiving Weekend in 2011.

Sure, You’ve Got A Plasma TV, But Does It Do This?

Now this is plasma, baby!

My friends who are into the backyard sun watching thing can’t believe this week’s pictures of solar plasma, shooting up above the surface of the sun.

I mean, look at this thing.
