You’ve got to check out this video - it’s a time lapse taken around Oregon over a stretch of six months time–ending with a big road trip all over the state in September 2011.

They were Lenticular clouds.
These types of clouds are a mountain specialty, if you will.
Amanda took this incredible shot from near Milwaukie, Oregon as several of these Lenticular clouds piled on top of each other right over Mt. Hood during the long Thanksgiving Weekend in 2011.

Now this is plasma, baby!
My friends who are into the backyard sun watching thing can’t believe this week’s pictures of solar plasma, shooting up above the surface of the sun.
I mean, look at this thing.
It’s a huge wall of plasma and apparently it’s either one of the biggest or the very biggest, ‘prominence’ that a lot of these sun watchers have ever seen.… Read more
