How about a snowy spring night on the Aloha, Oregon, High School football field?
Ryan Mishler caught some Aloha Warriors in action during our record breaking snow that started March 21, 2012 and stretched into early Thursday March 22, 2012. Yep–it’s spring but looks like winter!
Here are the Willamette Valley snow records smashed by this spring snow in Portland, Salem & Eugene.
Portland: .5″ total, the latest accumulating snow on record at/near the Portland Airport where long term records are kept. The previous record was .6″ March 15, 1946.
Salem: 2.5″ of snow, the most ever this late in the year.
Eugene: 7.5″ of snow, storm total over 2 days. 7″ of that fell early March 21, 2012. This is the biggest snow ever recorded this late in the year. The University of Oregon even delayed the start of classes until 1pm as a result!
