Roast Duck, Anyone? Oregon Ducks Home Opener Will Cook Fans In The Sun

September 9, 2011 by Bruce Sussman Leave a Comment

When it’s 82 degrees at the kickoff of Oregon’s 2011 home opener at Autzen Stadium, you know sunscreen is mandatory if you’re going to the game!

That’s the case on Saturday September 10, 2011 when the Ducks host Nevada.

By the fourth quarter, temperatures will reach 93 degrees. And the high in Eugene should end up just short of 100.

I’m a little worried this weather could help Nevada. On the other hand, they might feel like ‘it’s just too cold’ up here in Oregon and could be a little sluggish.

We’ll see. But remember…if you’re going to the game…wear sunscreen. And when you get back–post a comment right here to let us all know if it felt brutally hot–or if it didn’t feel that bad, after all.

Post Game Note: It actually was 82 at kick off and it did hit 93 during the fourth quarter. Eugene’s high was 94. Hot, yes, but no record. And we know now that the heat did not help Nevada!
