Massive Mystery Crater Opens Up In Siberia

July 18, 2014 by Bruce Sussman Leave a Comment

giant-crater-photoAs humans, we like to think we’re pretty smart.

But then something comes along we cannot explain and do not understand.

Like this massive crater that opened up near the ‘End Of The World’ in Siberia.

Russian Media estimates the Siberia mystery crater is 200-300 feet across. So, in American terms, almost as wide as a football field is long!

Some have suggested it could be linked to melting permafrost or perhaps it is related to a ‘nearby’ gas field.

Maybe it was the mother ship hitting earth after this recent visit to Bend, Oregon. Only kidding. So far there is no evidence it was caused by a meteorite slamming to earth. Or a spaceship.

The Washington Post has a quick and interesting read on this region of Siberia and how unwelcoming it is.

In the meantime, I’ll let you know if the mystery of the giant Siberian crater is solved.
