After Record Heat, It’s Snowing Again On Mt. Hood

May 19, 2016 by Bruce Sussman 2 Comments

timberline-lodge-pictureWe’re getting closer to Memorial Day–and you know what that means, right?

It’s snowing again on Mt. Hood!

This is the Timberline Lodge cam on Thursday morning May 19, 2016, with fresh snow on the ground.

And temperatures in the Willamette Valley are now 20-30 degrees cooler than this time last week, with no major warm up in view. But some warming, to be sure.

  • This follows more than a dozen days in the 80s through mid-May, the most we’ve ever had this early in the spring
  • This follows our warmest March-April-Mid-May stretch of weather on record in Portland

A lot of people have asked me, “What will the summer be like this year?”

My answers is to expect an unusually hot, long summer, just like we did last year. It looks like this is a ‘back to back’ type of trend!

I SO miss you Bruce on the TV weather. I was so upset when you left Channel 6 but so love to see you when you appear to do guest slots on Channel 2 once in a while…even saw you do a guest slot with the news there. Any future plans to return to Portland TV? You are the best (most passionate and inspiring) guy on TV news and weather!
