Hurricane Sandy is going to do so much damage & devastation to the northeast that it’s going to be hard to believe.

These pictures are coming in on Twitter from Atlantic City, New Jersey–a full 12 hours before landfall is expected along the New Jersey Coast.

The strongest winds? Still offshore.

The biggest storm surge of water to be pushed inland? Still offshore.

The heaviest and most intense flooding rains? Still offshore.

The feet of mountain snow and blizzard conditions? Still to develop.

We’re going to hear of many ways this storm is a record breaker. And the damage & power outages should be major in this case.

      Tom–

This is great question. It’s the million dollar question for us, really. This is what we call a “no nino” year without El Nino or La Nina. So that leaves us open to just about anything. My hunch right now is this will be an average winter, more or less, so that would put us in the 5-7″ range for the winter. But I reserve the right to change my mind.

      Thanks for posting!
      Bruce
