Portland’s Warmest Weather In 229 Days

May 19, 2011 by Bruce Sussman Leave a Comment

And now from our ‘crazy but true’ department.

It’s been 229 days since Portland, Oregon has had three days, back to back, with highs of 70 degrees or more.

Isn’t that just crazy? Yes.

But it’s also true.

The last time this happened was September 28, 29 & 30, 2010. Officially, here’s the count:

  • 229 days
  • 7 1/2 months
  • this is the meteorological definition of “way too long!”

Portland officially hit 71 yesterday and I think we’ll be mid-70s, at least, for two more days.

And Seattle looks to have its first 70 degree day of the entire year during this stretch as well. So the entire northwest warms up.
