Fourth Of July In The Northwest: Trend Proves True, Again

July 1, 2011 by Bruce Sussman 2 Comments

It’s here, the Fourth Of July Weekend.

And while my cousin Mariana is sending me texts from Kansas letting me know about triple digit heat…here we sit in Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington–waiting for a warm up.

Well, here it comes.

And it’s proving that the Fourth Of July trend we have going in the Northwest is happening again.

You see the trend on this page: one year the heat’s off, the next it’s on for the Fourth Of July. The following year, the heat is off.

On July 4th, 2010, the heat was really off, with a high of just 67. I’m so glad that won’t happen this year. If it did…I’d be leaving town. Both to outrun the angry mobs and to find some hot weather somewhere else!

Thanks so much for your support of the brucesussman.com weather blog – and enjoy highs around 80 on the Fourth Of July!

Hi Bruce. I was wondering if you might be posting a link for the weathercam at Newport. I am unable to afford going to the beach but I thought I might be able to enjoy a beach sunset. Thanks, Becky
