Portland’s 2012 Dry Stretch Goes Into The Record Books

So much for the “rainy northwest,” eh?

Our summer dry stretch in Portland usually lasts a few weeks. But this time, we outdid ourselves!

We went dry on July 21st and stayed dry until September 10, 2012, when a summer cold front blew through and dropped a whopping .04″ in about an hour.

Even the Sussman kids got up and said, “Wow, it rained outside!” Let’s see if there’s that kind of excitement for rain by mid-November.

Bruce: I’m surprised to not see 1986 among your top 10 list of longest dry stretches for Portland. We went 53 days that year here in Vancouver BC . (July 18-Sept.9th). That was our longest streak since 1928!
