Full Harvest Moon And A Jet

September 19, 2013 by Bruce Sussman 2 Comments

When the Harvest Moon came up over Portland, Salem & Vancouver it was a real beauty the night of September 18, 2013. Leslie captured this great shot, above.

And Ray took this beautiful picture of the full harvest moon, below.

But the picture of the night–belongs to Louis out in Gresham. Like a lot of us, he stepped out to photograph the full Harvest Moon. And incredibly, he snapped this photo with a jet taking off from PDX–like the jet was going right by the moon!

Says Louis, “Didn’t even see the plane until I checked out my photo in my camera and saw it. A once in a life time shot.”

I totally agree!

Hi Bruce, Our family Loves channel 6 & think your thee best weatherman. I had a question. Because we had a kinda easy summer, do you think that means we may have a colder, hopefully snowy winter? It’s been many years it seems since we’ve had a really cold winter? We want SNOW-SNOW & more SNOW. LOL
Thanks for the great weather reports. We can always count on you to get it right.

      Denise–

Thanks for the kind words and for taking time to stop by my blog. I have been joking that because we had such an outstanding summer…we should have an equally ‘outstanding’ winter…as in lots of rain. As far as snow? Well, it’s a No Nino year (or you can call it La Nada) so that usually ups the chances for a valley snow storm or two. But Mt. Hood? I haven’t decided yet how I think that will go. So I’m in the undecided camp for now. Stay tuned!
