September Snow In Oregon

September 20, 2013 by Bruce Sussman 1 Comment

It was only a dusting–but here it is, the first fresh snow on Mt. Hood in months.

September 18, 2013. That’s when someone linked with Mt. Hood Meadows ski resort snapped this shot.

And then there’s Mt. Bachelor.

Drew Jackson, former Portland TV Meteorologist turned ski resort guy, sent this picture along, also of a dusting on the morning of September 18,2013.

And with a start like this…you have to wonder…could we be skiing by Columbus Day?

That’s a joke to most of us!

But somewhere around the northwest someone is probably asking that question. Nothing wrong with a daydream…

Good to see you back, Bruce! Yesterday we had our heaviest day of rain here since May. It’s still been quite mild overnight this month (I haven’t seen a minimum temperature below 50F since June 13th) but I expect once we get a clear night in the next couple of weeks, we’ll feel the chill in the early morning.
